My favorite Super Bowl commercial would have to be the
pistachios advertisement. The commercial was trying to sell Wonderful Pistachios.
And everyone knows the hit of 2012 Gagnam Style. The company took the singer
and the song and changed it up a little bit to tell you to crack open some
pistachios.
The consumer need that was indentified was the need for
food. The targeted market of this commercial was basically everyone. But the
people mainly targeted were the nut lovers and anyone who just wants a great snack to munch
on when they are hungry. I believe this because it was a nut commercial. Anyone
who likes pistachios would see the commercial and want to try this brand. Also
the commercial got a few laugh, so just on that factor anyone looking for a
snack may be more apt to trying pistachios.
Wonderful Pistachios chose the Super Bowl to air their commercial
because everyone watching the game is typically watching it at a Super Bowl
party. And what is at every Super Bowl party? Food, snacks, every party has a
variety of snacks for people to pick at and by airing the commercial during
this game people might want to get pistachios for their next party.
This advertisement was very effective at gaining the
attention of their target audience. They made it very clear of their product
and what you have to do to eat them. I liked the whole commercial. My favorite
part of it though would be the line "Aaaaayye crack your nuts now!"
That line definitely made everyone laugh, and grabbed everyone's attention if
the advertisement hadn't already.
This advertisement can definitely be used again. People who
didn't watch the game would still like to see it and might also like pistachios
so they would want to go out and buy some after seeing the commercial. This
commercial will definitely create sales and might possibly change people's
opinions on pistachios. If the loved the song Gagnam Style, they might want to
try pistachios just because of the content of the commercial. There really isn't
anything that Wonderful Pistachios could have done differently, the commercial
was great from beginning to end.
Your right this add is a good one. It attracts a large audience of people, pistachio lovers or not. The fact that the company used a well known song to advertise there product was genius. It's something that young people can relate to. As well was all the "hip parents" that try to act in a cool way to impress their kids. I honestly think that the funny commercials are the most effective ones because they stick in peoples minds faster and remain there easier. So i do agree this add could be used in the future.
