My favorite commercial would probably be the goat four sale one that was put out by Doritos. The add starts out as a somewhat average looking guys seeing another guy who looks beat up selling a goat that is eating a bag of Doritos. He brings the goat home and low and behold he has a whole cabinet full of Doritos. So him and the goat eat the Doritos together but the goat does not seem to stop eating them, EVER. So the guy take all of the Doritos, hides in his room and plans on selling the goat. But as he is writing the sign the goat finds all the Doritos gone and get his revenge. The overall message behind the add is suppose is that everyone like Doritos and some people obsessively like Doritos. No real customer need to identified in the add besides the advice never to buy a Dorito eating goat.
The demographic that I believe they are targeting with this add are buys an potential buyers of their product to buy more of their product. There seem so be no age, gender, or race demographic to be seen as a target for the add, besides the farmer who probable checked his cabinet and barn after seeing it. I believe that the Doritos company decided to air this add during the super bowl because of all the snack foods that are consumed during the game.
I think that this ad was effective in getting the target audiences attention do to the funny, and weird nature of the add along with the multiple times the product was featured in the. The add did a little of both to call the consumer to action and promote the brand. The add made the brand seem more addictive and desirable. Which promotes the brand and call consumers to want to buy the product.
What I liked most about the add was how funny and ironic it was. In my opinion the best commercials are the ones that are most memorable, and ones that make you laugh do that. This add was designed for the super bowl but could be used in the future for the company because the brand sells all year round and it will put the name of the brand in peoples minds for the next big event or party. In my opinion this add will create sales for the company. The brand has been out there for a while and this add, I believe, will increase the chances of consumers choosing Doritos over other snack foods.
