Victory HVAC interview

  1. Hayley, I liked this presentation a lot, mainly due to the fact that I work for a company like this. I found it awesome that Mr. Debeau was able to create such a large business with so little and that it has grown so large. Also I am interested that he was able to keep a company and equal partnership with a company of this sort. I also learned quite a bit from this. The main thing I learned was about how so much can be accomplished with hard work and some knowhow. Also, that not everyone knows everything about businesses and how to run them so like Mr. Debeau, they surround themselves with people to help. In class we talk about ethics and how certain things that are not moral, can hurt businesses, like when he said, “The worst is not the major players, but the moonlighters or the small shops that don’t always follow the rules”. The company I work for also must deal with these not so moral competition as well and I understand just how that kind of practice can hurt one’s business.

  2. I always find it so interesting when i see businesses that literally have started from the bottom and worked their way up. It seems challenging to start a business literally in your house and make it profitable and successful. I think its great that Mr. Debeau was able to keep his partnership for this long. As we saw in class a lot of partnerships are not successful or tend to do poorly. They definitely seem to have a sold company with a partnership. I liked this company because they are hard working and keep going. Also, I liked their marketing. They do a lot to get the word out about their company. Other companies that I have looked at barley do anything to get their name out. Marketing is probably the best way for a company to succeed. I have learned that even though a lot of companies dont usually work out as a partnership, some do work out without a problem.
