Hi, Looking through your presentation on Amanda Desai on her business of jewelry and accessory selling. To see that Amanda is successful in many ways is interesting. To see that she is a RD of Shamie Hall and owns her own business shows how organized and dedicated she is. It was also interesting to see how a hobby was turned into a business. I think that the way she marketed her business was great because she posted it on one of the many websites/apps used by many people, instagram this is showing that she used the social media in a way to benefit her business. As I read on more in the power point I notice that her background varies in many ways. She has a lot of background and knowledge business and management and that is what helps her succeed today in her business. She also faces many challenges but is still committed to her business and that shows how hard she works for it. This all backs up the advice she gave because by her diligence in her work and by the effort she has put into her business. What backs up her advice the most is that you can tell that she loves doing this because it all started out as a hobby!
Saurav, I also think it is interesting that Amanda does multiple things. Its pretty cool that she is an RD and has her own business. Who would have guessed? I think it’s awesome when people take what the love and transform it in a way to make money. The presentation also shows that she is companionate with what she does because she loves making the world fabulous. I am really surprised that she finds time to make jewelry/accessories because of being a full time RD. Looking at her background and knowledge showed me why she is successful. Business and management helped her hobby get off the ground. One of the challenges it looks like she faces is her competition with jewelry designers and other stores on ETSY. She helps this challenge though with her quality and strives for the highest. Another huge part of that I like is to keep her customers satisfied she gives coupons out to her valued.
Saurav, I think you’re picked a fabulous person to interview! Being a woman one of my favorite things to wear is jewelry! While looking on Amanda desai’s website, I have to say she is a very talented jewelry maker. Not only are the pieces she makes beautiful but they are affordable. Affordability is one of the many problems with jewelry, especially with small business jewelry makers. I usually find that small business jewelry makers have amazing high quality jewelry but are too overpriced for the everyday person. I then resort to buying from the big businesses like Macys, JCpenny’s, or Wal-Mart. But it looks like I could actually afford what Amanda desai is selling, which I find as surprising since it is really pretty and unique looking. I am able to buy a really nice looking ring from her for only five dollars! That’s cool! I would definitely rather have Amanda desai’s jewelry then Wal-Mart’s jewelry.

She must have a lot of responsibility on her plate. I like the fact that she started this side job as just a hobby and it grew into something more. Starting on instagram is a great way for people to recognize her hobby. Social media is a very large part in our daily lives and she picked a good way to market her products! I think if she wanted to expand her business, she could start advertising to the students at Nichols College. I believe the girls would be interested in her jewelry. Selling to students would be a great way to gain more loyal customers and expand her business!
