Zach, First off, I really enjoyed your presentation and I think it’s great that your mom owns her own daycare. My mom actually used to own her own daycare as well, for quite a while too, but it became too much so she decided to move on to something else. I give your mom major props because I have seen, firsthand, how much work goes into not only owning your own business but also taking care of other peoples’ children. I found it interesting that your mom has been in this business for almost 15 years. That is impressive for a home daycare. I also thought it was interesting that many of your mom’s clients have been sent to her through other daycare providers; it’s almost like a network. I learned that as an entrepreneur, sometimes your enemies, or competitors, are closer than you think. I thought it was awful that the “fake mom” tried to steal your mom’s daycare ideas! The text states, “The ability to set your own hours and control your own schedule is a hugely appealing benefit for many business owners, especially parents seeking more time with their kids” (101). It’s great that your mom has maintained a successful business while being able to stay home with her kids.
Hello Zachary Levy i enjoyed your presentation on slideshare. Your mothers business sounds like it is doing well. It must be a lot of work to run your own business. Being responsible for all the kids and keeping them entertained can be a tiring job. 15 years is a long time and I think its great that the business has been running well for that long. Hopefully i can run a small business like your mother and enjoy working in what i do. I wish her luck for the future of her company.
