This may be the first time I haven’t
watched the super bowl this year. One commercial that attracted me was the Go Procommercial. The music they are playing is Dubstep through the music video. There
is a baby that goes by the name Charlie Ray I say that is maybe, 9 months old.
Charlie Ray is getting thrown in the air and walking in the chair so he is
mobile. It is filled with effects for slow motion and zooming in. To me the
commercial was saying to capture every moment.
The costumers needs were somewhat
identified, it shows what the camera is capable of. It zooms in; you can throw
it in slow motion, and add sound. What I would like to know if I was a costomer
is how durable is it since you are filming a little kid. What if you drop it on
accident because your kid was about to do something that they were not sopost
to do. What if you get cake flunged at it because you’re recording at birthday party?
Some areas ere meet, I just wish they put a little more into it because it is
targeting families.
I definitely think they are
targeting new families. They use a very young child just learning how to walk. There
is also a seen where the parents throw Charlie in the air. It’s only of Charlie
as well. It has his little legs running and his smile and all the expression he’s
shows to give you that awh moment.
The
used the call to action approach because it shows what the Go Pro camera can truly
do. It shows a real world example instead of just throwing the name at you a
lot, and it doesn’t speak so it intensifies the captured moment.
I did like that add. I thought it
was very cute, and if I ever had a kid I’m going to record him or her so I can embrace
the moment. I like how they didn’t talk; just the music alone added a modern
twist to home videos.
The ad can definitely be reused. It
wasn’t too glamorized for the super bowl but it was a great attention grabber. So
it should definitely be used again.
They did take that approach; home videos
were huge about a decade ago and now they have revolutionized home videos to a
whole new playing ground. It was done effectively for a family in raising a
child. It make it more effective they should have opened it to attract all
people not just new families.
I one hundred percent agree Brittney, this is a very cool commercial! This kind of camera makes my camera look like a child’s play toy. I would definitely buy one of these if I had the extra money to do so. I bet they are really expensive to buy though. I agree with you when you said that the product is definitely marketed towards new families. Catching the special moments especially if it’s your child’s “first” moments is very important to new parents. I also like the idea of home videos that this company adopted. These types of commercials usually are not appealing to me, and I enjoy more of the funny ones, but I liked the “family” aspect of it.
